Hello everyone. This is the first post on my first blog! I’m Nicola. Welcome to The Pursuit of Sustainable Luxury!
My decision process to become a blogger was a rather amusing one. Since the topic is on sustainability I am well aware the importance of a sustainable blog. On this issue:
Fear #1: For the past years and still on going, I have such difficulty keeping updated on the numerous social media platforms and keeping my sanity. And being a mother of two young preschoolers, it is constant distractions day in day out, do I really need to start another virtual communication channel and BLOG?
Fear #2: I’m a rather private person – I never post my oh-so-interesting pictures on Facebook to be liked. I hardly ‘like’ any posts. I don’t like virtual friends. So why blogging at all?
Fear #3: How do you blog exactly? What is RSS, how to follow, how to upload, what is a gravatar? To tackle Fear #3, I called up my cousin who is 12 years younger, a competent blogger, for a crash course over some camomile tea. After speaking my mind out loud for 10 minutes… she randomly took out a book from her bag – “IF you Fear – you should just do it”… (or something along the line.) The actual wordings didn’t matter. It was a moment of enlightenment for me. So here I am – before knowing what to expect, knowing how to setup the blog and how to RSS or subscribe to somethings which I yet to have accounts, I’m doing it.
So my answer to Fear #1 – Please be aware that this blog takes no priority over many other matters in my life.
For Fear #2 – Haha, I’m throwing myself out for this item – as I believe trust and honesty is needed to establish any relationship.
Fear #3 – If this blog is ever down – strange things appear, getting awkward here and there – I am most probably fixing something somewhere somehow. Bear with me!
My fear all boils down to a genuine passion to make a difference for Mother Earth.
Ooooh, just got an email from WordPress announcing the launch of SoundCheck. Maybe I can even put some music on my blog (if I know how to set it up, haha.)
It is all an exciting day for me to officially launch The Pursuit of Sustainable Luxury.
